Clock icon 2 minutes reading time

Here at CDS, we’re incredibly proud of our 170-strong team – after all, they’re the ones who make all the comms magic happen.

That’s why, every month, we’re giving our blog readers a chance to get to know each member of the CDS family in our employee Q&A series.

Next up in the hot seat is our senior account manager, Rebecca Miggels. With just 10 minutes on the clock, let’s go…

1. Sum up your role at CDS in one sentence:

I’m a senior account manager, managing relationships across clients in financial services, utilities, and non-profit sectors.

Rebecca Miggels, senior account manager.

2. What’s your favourite thing about your job?

I love the diversity of the role: every day is different, and every client is unique, each with their challenges. I’m results-driven: I enjoy seeing the tangible impacts of the projects I work on, so when we come together with a client to complete a job, seeing the positive difference it makes in their sector and community keeps me motivated.

3. How did you become senior account manager?

I have a background in project management and account management, primarily working in roles focused on print communications. When I came across this position at CDS, I was looking to expand my skill set and experience in the digital space: the role not only ticked that box but I was also attracted to CDS’ missions, values, client base and the projects they deliver. I got in touch with the recruitment team, and after a successful interview process, I had no hesitation in accepting their offer.

4. What drew you towards choosing CDS as an employer?

The role I applied for perfectly mirrored my intentions for developing my career: as mentioned, I wanted to expand into the digital space, but I also wanted the work I did to make a positive difference. In seeing CDS’ missions and values, I knew that I would instantly fit into this environment and enjoy helping clients overcome their challenges to make a real impact.

5. Describe the CDS ethos in just three words:

Supportive, ambitious, collaborative.

6. What’s been your favourite project so far and why?

I recently completed onboarding a new client, BookTrust: a children’s charity dedicated to its mission of getting children to read. This client has a positive role in the UK, and I’ve enjoyed being involved from the very beginning of the client relationship to partaking in plenty of interesting conversations (about strategy and direction) that followed. I’m looking forward to our continued partnership together.

7. Which brand would you love to work on a digital project with?

A client I’d love to work with is WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature). I admire their work in conservation: wilderness preservation, tackling climate change, and lessening the negative impacts humans have on the environment. I have a real interest in the natural world, the importance of sustainability, and a love for working with charities and non-profit organisations.

8. Complete this sentence: For businesses, employing an effective digital strategy means…

Embracing the fact that change is the only constant.

9. For a bit of fun, if CDS were a variety of biscuits, which would it be and why?

A chocolate hob-nob… it has strength and stability and never disappoints.

10. Finally, if you could give one piece of advice to your 10-year-old self, what would it be?

Life is too short to not go after the things that you want.
