Bailie Group hosted a friends and family event for our apprentices

We’re excited to have celebrated our current cohort of six apprentices — comprising of four from CDS and two from Bailie Group Business Services (BGBS) — who have been with the company for around five months.

The event took place on Thursday 2nd March, at our offices here in Leeds. The idea behind the event was to allow the friends and families of our apprentices to come into HQ, have a look around, and meet our fantastic leaders and managers.

We're extremely proud of our apprentices.

As part of the evening, each of the apprentices presented their experience so far — demonstrating their learnings and how they have progressed in such a short time. It was a time to celebrate their achievements and learning milestones, together.

The apprentices currently include:

  • Arran Taylor (Apprentice People Support Advisor)
  • Will Chidsey(Apprentice Finance Business Partner)
  • Anton Watson (Apprentice Software Developer)
  • Harrison Smith (Apprentice Project Manager)
  • Jake Ashcroft (Apprentice Junior UX Researcher)
  • Ruby Williams (Apprentice Junior Content Designer).

The CEO of Bailie Group, Fergus Bailie, MD of CDS, Mark Gair, and CFO of BGBS, Vicky Wordsworth joined our apprentices in delivering presentations, giving insight and context into the operating companies. The line managers for each of the apprentices were also invited to attend.

The next step in the apprenticeship journey

It was just over one year ago that our apprentices applied for the scheme, and ever since we first met them, they have attended assessment centres, taken part in a three-day induction, been integrated into their teams, and started their studies in their chosen subject areas.

Once they complete their apprenticeships, there will also be a celebratory event to close off the cohort.

Here at Bailie Group, it’s our mission to improve people’s lives through the work we do — making a positive impact to the communities in which we operate — and our apprenticeship scheme is a core part of this. We are extremely passionate about nurturing the region’s talent, and are committed to supporting their development, helping them build their new career on strong foundations.
