The Pocket Tube map is one of the many products CDS prints for our client Transport for London (TfL), under our print management, distribution, storage and associated services contract.
Olivia Mills, Assistant Project Manager, Art on the Underground explains the prestigious Pocket Tube Map project, “Since 2004, Art on the Underground have commissioned an artist to create a unique work for each edition of the Pocket Tube map, putting the work of leading international artists in the hands of millions. Printed in millions of copies for each new edition, the map is amongst the most significant series of art commissions in the world.”
“The unique collection of works refer to London’s Underground in a variety of approaches; through the use of the Tube line colours, the history of the Underground and its design, to conceptual reflections on maps and travelling.”
“The latest Central London Tube map features a new work by Turner Prize-winning artist Laure Prouvost. With enthusiasts from around the world collecting each edition, the artist-designed covers of the Pocket Tube map are an iconic part of London.”
All of us at CDS are proud to play a role in this project and indeed in producing the wide variety of TfL communications from bus wraps to campaign materials, timetables and promotional merchandise that help to keep London informed and on the move.
