We're delighted to share the news that CDS has won a gold award at the Digital Impact Awards 2021! The gold was awarded in the 'Best Use Of Digital From The Energy And Utilities Sector' category for our digital transformation project with Yorkshire Water.
CDS and Yorkshire Water were recognised for their intensive 9-months work designing a new “genuinely customer-centric” digital platform that would reduce the number of inbound calls and ensure communications were inclusive and accessible to all Yorkshire Water customers.
The Digital Impact Awards honour the best corporate digital communications work in Europe, and we are incredibly honoured to be chosen to receive a gold award by a panel of expert industry professionals across a range of sectors.
The judges were impressed by the service design approach to making the site genuinely useful for customers. “Good website with a solid communication basis behind it, based on high quality and practical UX research,” said one. Another judge added, “Very strong submission with clear objectives and strong strategy with clear understanding of the customer and CX.”
As with any good award acceptance, we have some people to thank! Firstly, we would like to say a huge thank you to our wonderful clients, Yorkshire Water. We worked as one team together to produce this award-winning work. We would also like to thank one of our incredible partners, Umbraco, for their continued support and drive to innovate their CMS software!

This year’s awards were held at the Park Plaza London Riverbank on 25 November. Andrew Thomas, founder of the awards had this to say: “Digital has connected workforces, strengthened relationships with employees and kept citizens informed of crucial information amid a changing landscape. It is always so rewarding and illuminating to examine those setting the standard for excellence in strategic digital communications. Congratulations to all of this year’s very deserving winners!”
